Home  Sample E-mails  What's the scam?  What we do  Known Scammers

Above all else, DO NOT respond, or open any attachments. I also advise declining any relay calls. They use that to hook you first, in most cases.  If you have already opened an attachment from one of these people please go to the "Computer Clean-up" link at the bottom of the page.

To protect yourself from internet con artists:

*        Please be sure to never send your animal anywhere, without checking out the buyer.

  • If you receive a check for more than the purchase price of your animal, throw it away - it is a fake!

*        Never send anyone any money, you are the seller, you shouldn't be the one paying. If you responded to an ad that said "free", and they ask for money, it's not "free" anymore.

  • If they have threatened you, just ignore it. This is only a scare tactic to get more money out of you.

*        If you do ship your animal, make sure you are paid up front, and that the funds have CLEARED, before you release the animal to the buyer.

  • Use the same shipping method you always do. Do not use someone else's shipper.

*        If you are unsure of any e-mail, please forward the entire e-mail to us BEFORE you respond. We are happy to look over any e-mail and verify if it is a scam. Even if it came from an ad on a different site.

  • If the e-mail is verified a scam, do not reply, just delete it. If you have already responded, don't reply again. They will eventually give up.
